What this tool calculates

This calculator summarizes separate bets. It does not multiply the odds and must not be used as a parlay price.

Arithmetic mean = sum of odds ÷ bet count. Stake-weighted mean = Σ(odds × stake) ÷ Σ(stake).

Results use the assumptions shown on this page. Actual settlement may differ under operator, jurisdiction, or market-specific rules.

Worked example

Odds of 1.80 with a $100 stake and 2.20 with a $50 stake have an arithmetic mean of 2.00. Their stake-weighted average is about 1.9333 because the shorter price carries more stake.

BetOdds / stake
11.80 / $100
22.20 / $50
Weighted average1.9333

Tips and limitations

  • Use decimal odds from the same market and settlement period.
  • Keep unrounded inputs; rounding is applied only to displayed results.
  • Check operator rules for voids, deductions, overtime, limits, or special settlement.
  • This is informational betting math, not a recommendation or a prediction.

FAQ

Should average betting odds be weighted by stake?

Use stake weighting when you want larger bets to influence the average in proportion to money risked.

Is average odds the same as parlay odds?

No. Average odds summarize separate bets; parlay odds are normally multiplied.

Why show both arithmetic and weighted averages?

They answer different questions: the typical listed price versus the typical dollar of stake exposure.

Can I leave an optional bet blank?

Yes, but each included row must contain both decimal odds and a positive stake.

Does average implied probability equal the inverse of average odds?

Not generally. The tool calculates a separate stake-weighted average of each bet’s implied probability.
