How to use this calculator
Enter total sessions, sessions completed, current absences, and the required attendance percentage. Use the result to understand how many future absences remain before the attendance policy is violated.
Find the maximum number of absences allowed under a school, course, or training attendance rule. See your remaining safe absence buffer, future attendance risk, and the effect of one more absence.

The result identifies the safe absence allowance. A low or negative remaining absence count means future absences may affect exam access, course completion, or certification.
Round rules can differ. Some schools round down absence allowances, while others use exact attendance percentages.
For 100 sessions with an 80% requirement, the maximum absence limit is 20. If you already have 6 absences, you have 14 remaining absences before reaching the limit.
Compare your current absences with the maximum allowed absences. The difference is your remaining absence allowance.
An 80% rule usually allows up to 20% of sessions as absences, so 100 sessions would allow 20 absences.
If your remaining absence allowance is zero or negative, one more absence may put you below the requirement.
Most policies calculate allowed absences as total sessions multiplied by the non-required percentage.
A safe buffer is usually at least two or more unused absences, especially before illness or schedule conflicts occur.
