Choosing the right image format
Converting an image changes more than the file extension. Formats differ in compression, transparency support, animation, metadata handling, browser compatibility, and how well they preserve photos, screenshots, line art, or graphics with text.
Pick the output format for the destination rather than converting by habit. A transparent logo, a camera photo, and a UI screenshot usually benefit from different choices. After conversion, reopen the exported file and confirm that color, transparency, dimensions, and orientation were preserved.
