Building images for feeds, ads, and social posts
Social images often need to work under several constraints at once: fixed aspect ratios, small mobile screens, platform cropping, short attention spans, and text that must remain readable without covering the main subject. A design that looks good on a desktop canvas may feel crowded in a feed.
Start from the placement where the asset will appear and design for that size. Keep important text and logos away from likely crop zones, and export channel-specific versions instead of forcing one image to fit every format.
Practical tips
- Check the current target dimensions before designing a campaign asset.
- Keep headline text short enough to read on a phone without zooming.
- Place faces, products, and logos inside a safe central area when platforms may crop previews.
- Create separate square, portrait, and landscape exports for major placements.
- Preview the finished creative at feed size, not only on a large editing canvas.
