What this tool does

This checker searches displayed cell text for phone-like digit patterns and records the sheet, cell address, original value, and normalized digits.

Matches are candidates, not proof of personal data. Order numbers and long numeric IDs can resemble phone numbers.

Supported formats and limits

XLSX and XLS workbooks are read with SheetJS. CSV and TSV are supported where listed. Each input file is limited to 25 MB, previews show at most 20 rows and 12 columns, and advanced Excel objects are not guaranteed to survive export.

What phone number formats can the spreadsheet scanner find?

It recognizes common international and North American patterns with spaces, dashes, parentheses, periods, and an optional leading plus sign.

Can the tool automatically delete phone numbers?

No. It creates a review report so you remain in control of any redaction decision.

Why was an account number flagged as a phone number?

Pattern matching cannot always distinguish long identifiers from phone numbers. Check the source column and surrounding data.

Does it scan every sheet in an Excel workbook?

You can scan the selected sheet or choose the all-sheets option.

Are spreadsheet contacts uploaded during the scan?

No. Parsing and matching happen locally in your browser.
