What the result means

The result shows whether your target grade is mathematically realistic with the remaining course weight.

Projected final = current grade × completed weight + expected remaining grade × remaining weight. Required score = target gap ÷ remaining weight.

When completed weight is high, small remaining assignments cannot change the final grade much.

Example calculation

A current 86% after 70% of the course and 92% expected on the rest gives a projected final grade of 87.8%.

Tips for better results

  • Focus on remaining high-weight work.
  • Use best, expected, and worst-case scenarios.
  • Check target feasibility early, not after the final.
  • Ask about extra credit only if required score exceeds 100%.

FAQ

What final exam score do I need?

Use current grade, completed weight, and target grade to estimate the remaining score required.

Can I still get an A in this course?

You can if the required score on remaining work is within the possible range and your course grading policy allows it.

Is my target grade realistic?

A target is realistic when the required remaining score is not above 100% or above your practical performance level.

What happens if I score lower on my final exam?

Lower remaining scores reduce the projected final grade based on the remaining weight.

How much does my coursework affect my final grade?

Completed coursework affects the final grade according to its completed weight in the course.
