How to use this image tool

  1. Select an image from your device.
  2. Set the options for this job.
  3. Choose Read photo location, review the result, and download the new file.

What this tool does

The tool parses the image EXIF GPS tags locally. When latitude and longitude exist, it displays the decimal coordinates and prepares a JSON report.

DMS GPS tags → signed decimal latitude and longitude

Many messaging apps and social networks remove location metadata. No result does not prove the photo was never geotagged.

Supported formats

JPEG and TIFF files with readable EXIF GPS tags. Browser memory and unusual camera metadata layouts may limit parsing.

Tips for better results

  • Check the original camera file rather than a social-media copy.
  • Treat coordinates as sensitive personal information.
  • Remove GPS metadata before sharing a photo when the location should remain private.

FAQ

Does photo location viewer upload my photos?

No. Processing runs in the browser. A pinned library is loaded only when needed, but your selected image bytes are not sent to it or to Callimage.

What happens to image metadata after using this tool?

The tool reads available GPS metadata and exports a separate JSON report without changing the source photo.

Why can the result look different from the original?

GPS data may be absent, removed, or stored in a layout the browser parser cannot read.

Can I use this tool on a phone?

Yes, on a modern mobile browser, although large images may exceed available memory. The tool rejects unusually large inputs before intensive work.

Which files work best with photo location viewer?

JPEG and TIFF files with readable EXIF GPS tags. Browser memory and unusual camera metadata layouts may limit parsing.
