How are highlights selected?
Bright pixels receive the strongest highlight adjustment. Negative values darken bright detail; positive values lift it.
Can this recover clipped white or black pixels?
No. Fully clipped source pixels contain no hidden detail, though nearby tones can be made easier to see.
Why does a strong adjustment look flat?
Large shadow lifts and highlight reductions compress tonal contrast. Use moderate values and compare the preview.
Does the exported image keep metadata?
No. Canvas export creates a new image file and generally does not retain EXIF or other source metadata.
