How to use this image tool

  1. Choose an image.
  2. Adjust the available options.
  3. Select Posterize Image, review the result, and download the new file.

What this tool does

Posterization maps continuous channel values to a smaller palette. Fewer levels create harder color bands and a more stylized result.

channel′ = round(channel ÷ 255 × (levels−1)) × 255 ÷ (levels−1)

PNG export preserves transparency. The operation changes pixel colors and cannot restore discarded tonal detail.

Tips for better results

  • Keep the original until you have checked the download.
  • Test a smaller copy first when working on a memory-limited phone.
  • Inspect the preview at full size when pixel edges or text placement matter.

FAQ

Does Posterize Image upload my image?

No. Processing runs locally in the browser; selecting a file does not send it to Callimage.

Will Posterize Image keep image metadata?

Newly rendered images normally omit EXIF and other source metadata. Analysis reports include only the fields shown in the result.

Can I use Posterize Image on a phone?

Yes, in a modern browser, although large images can exceed mobile memory limits.

Why can an image fail to open?

The file may be damaged, mislabeled, use an unsupported codec variant, or exceed the browser’s decoding limits.

Does the downloaded result replace my original?

No. The browser creates a separate download and does not modify the source file on your device.
