How to use this office tool

  1. Choose a worksheet and set the header row.
  2. Run the validator to scan structure, duplicates, types, blanks, and risky prefixes.
  3. Review the issue preview and download the complete CSV validation report.

What this tool does

The validator performs practical structural checks and creates a row-level CSV report that identifies each issue and its location.

Worksheet scan → issue type, cell or row location, explanation → new CSV report

Validation flags candidates for review; it does not automatically delete or rewrite source values. Business-specific rules still require human judgment.

Supported formats

Files are processed in memory on this device. Large or structurally complex workbooks may require desktop spreadsheet software.

InputSupport
XLSX / XLSParsed locally with SheetJS CE
CSV / TSVSupported with delimiter-aware parsing
Limits25 MB per file, bounded preview, up to 500,000 used cells

Tips for better results

  • Treat findings as a review queue, not automatic proof of error.
  • Pay special attention before opening untrusted CSV files in Excel.
  • Add domain-specific rules after this structural screening.

FAQ

What spreadsheet problems does the validator flag?

It reports blank cells, uneven row widths, duplicate rows, mixed column types, and text beginning with characters commonly associated with spreadsheet formulas.

Does a flagged value always mean the data is wrong?

No. Findings are review candidates. A blank cell or mixed type may be intentional in your business context.

Why are values beginning with equals, plus, minus, or at signs flagged?

Those prefixes can trigger spreadsheet formulas when CSV data is opened, so the report highlights them for formula-injection review.

Does the validator repair the workbook automatically?

No. It creates a separate CSV issue report and leaves source data untouched.

Can the report identify duplicate rows?

Yes. Later full-row matches are reported as duplicates of an earlier row.
