How to use this office tool

  1. Prepare columns named Item, Description, Quantity, Unit Price, and Tax Rate.
  2. Upload the file and select the sheet containing the line items.
  3. Check the bounded preview, then create and download the invoice workbook.

What this tool does

Reads item, description, quantity, unit price, and optional tax-rate columns, then builds a fresh invoice workbook with formulas and a compact summary.

Line total = quantity × unit price; tax = line total × tax rate; invoice total = sum of line totals and tax.

Use one row per line item. The first row is treated as column headings.

Supported formats

Accepts XLSX, XLS, CSV, and TSV line-item tables. The output is XLSX. Complex source formatting is not copied.

Tips for better results

  • Keep quantities and prices numeric.
  • Enter tax as 0.1 or 10%; both are recognized.
  • Review the generated totals before sending the invoice.

FAQ

What columns should an invoice line-item spreadsheet contain?

Use Item or Description plus Quantity and Unit Price. Tax Rate is optional; missing tax is treated as zero.

Can this invoice maker calculate tax per line?

Yes. It accepts decimal or percent-style tax rates and writes line tax formulas into the output workbook.

Does the generated invoice include Excel formulas?

Yes. Each line total and tax amount uses a formula, and the final total sums those calculated columns.

Can I use a CSV file to make an Excel invoice?

Yes. Upload CSV or TSV line items and the tool will create a new XLSX invoice.

Will my source spreadsheet formatting be copied to the invoice?

No. The tool creates a practical new workbook and does not promise to reproduce charts, macros, or advanced formatting.
