What this tool does

Rebuilds visible worksheet cell content in a new XLSX file and omits workbook properties, comments, links, hidden sheets, and embedded objects.

Visible sheets and cell values/formulas are copied into a new workbook; document metadata and unsupported embedded content are left behind.

Because the workbook is rebuilt, advanced formatting, charts, macros, pivots, and external links may not survive.

Supported formats

Accepts XLSX and XLS. CSV and TSV have no Excel document properties, but can still be rebuilt as XLSX.
