How to use this office tool

  1. Upload a workbook or delimited file and choose the target sheet.
  2. Set the header row and whitespace option.
  3. Remove blank rows, inspect the counts, and download the cleaned XLSX.

What this tool does

Checks the selected sheet row by row and removes rows whose cells are all empty or whitespace-only.

Keep a row when at least one cell contains a value after optional whitespace trimming.

Only the selected worksheet is cleaned and exported. A row containing 0 or FALSE is not considered blank.

Supported formats

Accepts XLSX, XLS, CSV, and TSV. The selected table is exported as a new XLSX workbook.

Tips for better results

  • Confirm whether space-only cells should count as empty.
  • Check merged layouts manually because visual blankness can differ from stored values.
  • Keep the original file until the cleaned copy is reviewed.

FAQ

What counts as a blank row in Excel?

A row is blank when every parsed cell is empty. With trimming enabled, whitespace-only text is also empty.

Will rows containing zero be removed?

No. Zero, FALSE, and other explicit values make a row nonblank.

Does this remove blank rows from every worksheet?

This version processes the sheet selected in the tool and writes that cleaned sheet to a new workbook.

Are partially empty rows deleted?

No. A row with at least one nonempty cell is retained.

Can merged cells affect blank-row detection?

Yes. Merged layouts can look different from their stored cell values, so review the output when the source uses merged cells.
