What this tool does

Build a frequency count for any spreadsheet column, including blanks, percentages, and each value’s share of the selected data.

Values from the chosen column are grouped using the selected case rule, then sorted by frequency and exported as a new XLSX summary.

Counts reflect parsed cell values. Visually identical dates or numbers stored with different underlying types may remain separate.

Supported formats

OutputXLSX frequency table with count and percentage.

Tips for better results

  • Use a header name to make the selection easier to audit.
  • Normalize spaces first when labels were entered inconsistently.
  • Treat blank counts as a data-quality signal, not automatically as zero.

FAQ

Can I count values by Excel column letter?

Yes. Enter a letter such as A or AB, or type the exact header label.

Are blank cells included in the count?

Yes. Blank cells are counted separately and shown in the summary.

Can the count ignore capitalization?

Yes. Choose the case-insensitive mode to group values such as North and north together.

Why are two dates counted separately?

Cells that look alike can have different underlying values or types. Standardize the source dates before counting when needed.

Does it alter the original spreadsheet?

No. It creates a separate XLSX frequency report.
