How to use this office tool

What this tool does

This tool performs a focused comparison in local browser memory. It creates a separate downloadable result rather than presenting the original upload as processed.

Processing rule: parse the selected data, apply the comparison rule, limit the on-page preview, then serialize a new output file.

Complex Excel features such as VBA, external links, charts, and advanced formatting may not survive browser-based workbook rewriting. Use a copy of important files.

Files are parsed locally. Support is intentionally limited to the formats shown below and advanced workbook features may not be preserved.

Tips for better results

Check headers, identifiers, dates, and leading zeros in the preview.

How are the two CSV files compared?

Records are compared by row position and column position after parsing.

Does the tool detect added rows?

Yes. Rows present on only one side appear in the difference report.

Are quoted commas handled?

Yes. The CSV parser respects quoted fields and escaped quote characters.

Can it compare Excel workbooks?

No. This page is intentionally limited to CSV files.

What does the download contain?

It contains row number, column number, value from file A, value from file B, and the difference type.
