What this tool does

Checks text cells for strict numeric patterns and changes qualifying values to numeric cells. It leaves ordinary text, formulas, and protected leading-zero identifiers alone.

How does the tool identify numbers stored as text?

It uses a strict numeric pattern and excludes blank strings, dates, formulas, and protected leading-zero values.

Will ZIP codes such as 00123 be converted?

Not when Protect text values is selected. Leading-zero strings stay as text to avoid losing meaningful digits.

Does the tool recalculate Excel formulas?

No. It preserves formulas where possible, but full recalculation should be performed in Excel after download.

Can it handle currency symbols and thousands separators?

It handles common comma-grouped numbers and basic currency symbols, but unusual locale formats should be reviewed manually.

Does it overwrite my original workbook?

No. The tool builds a separate XLSX download in your browser and leaves the source file unchanged.
