How to use this office tool

  1. Choose a spreadsheet, worksheet, and header row.
  2. Build the quality scorecard.
  3. Review deductions and recommendations in the downloaded XLSX report.

What this tool does

The scorecard combines transparent checks into a 0–100 quality score and downloads an XLSX report with issue counts and practical recommendations.

Worksheet structure + cell checks → weighted deductions → quality score and findings

The score is a screening aid, not a guarantee of correctness. Business rules and source-system expectations still require human review.

Supported formats

Files are processed locally. XLSX and XLS workbooks are read with SheetJS; CSV and TSV files are parsed with delimiter-aware handling. Advanced Excel features may not be preserved in generated files.

Tips for better results

  • Work from a backup when the source workbook is important.
  • Keep identifiers such as ZIP codes and account codes stored as text.
  • Review the bounded preview and downloaded result before replacing any business workflow.

FAQ

How is the spreadsheet quality score calculated?

The score starts at 100 and applies capped deductions for structural, completeness, consistency, duplication, formula, and whitespace findings.

Does a score of 100 prove the data is correct?

No. It means the included technical checks found no deduction; business accuracy still requires domain validation.

Are formulas recalculated during the check?

No. Stored formula errors are reported, but the browser does not reproduce Excel's full calculation engine.

Can I see why points were deducted?

Yes. The downloaded report lists each check, its issue count, deduction, and recommendation.

Which worksheet is scored?

The worksheet selected in the page is scored using the chosen header row.
