How to use this calculator

Enter completed units, total course units, average unit score, and attendance rate. The calculator estimates progress, performance, course health, and completion risk.

What the result means

The result combines pace and achievement. A course can be behind schedule even with good scores, or on schedule but academically weak.

Course health = progress rate × 35% + average unit score × 40% + attendance × 25%

Attendance is included because poor attendance often causes later drops in assignment completion and assessment scores.

Example calculation

Completing 14 of 18 units with an 83% average score and 92% attendance produces a stable but improvable course health result.

Tips for better results

  • Compare progress with the calendar pace.
  • Review low-performing units before final assessments.
  • Protect attendance above 90%.

FAQ

How much course progress is expected by mid-semester?

Expected progress depends on the course calendar; compare completed units with planned units for the current date.

Can attendance affect course completion?

Yes. Low attendance often reduces unit completion, assignment submission, and test performance.

How do I identify students falling behind?

Students are falling behind when progress rate, score, or attendance is below the course benchmark.

What course completion rate is considered healthy?

A healthy completion rate usually stays close to the planned pace and above 85% near the end of the course.

How can I improve overall course performance?

Improve the weakest driver first: pace, unit mastery, assignment completion, or attendance.
