How to use this calculator

Enter classes already held, attended classes, remaining classes, and planned future absences. The calculator uses an 80% requirement as a practical default.

Use projected attendance to check whether your planned absences still leave enough safety margin.

What the result means

The result shows current attendance and projected attendance after remaining classes. A low buffer means even one additional absence could create risk.

Projected attendance = (Classes attended + Remaining classes - Planned absences) ÷ (Classes held + Remaining classes) × 100

Attendance policies vary. Replace the default requirement mentally if your school requires a different minimum.

Example calculation

If 40 classes were held, 36 attended, 10 remain, and 1 future absence is planned, projected attendance is 90%.

Tips for better results

  • Keep a buffer above the minimum requirement.
  • Avoid planned absences when current attendance is close to the cutoff.
  • Check attendance after every absence, not only near finals.
