How to use this calculator
Enter the remaining days, total work required, completed work, and your current daily pace. The calculator compares your current pace with the pace needed to finish on time.
Use this daily countdown calculator to track how many days remain before a deadline and how much you must complete each day. Estimate pace, risk, buffer days, and completion probability.
Enter the remaining days, total work required, completed work, and your current daily pace. The calculator compares your current pace with the pace needed to finish on time.
If your current pace is higher than the required pace, the deadline is realistic. If it is lower, the calculator shows a catch-up risk.
For deadlines with approval cycles, revisions, or delivery delays, add buffer days manually.
If 80 tasks remain and 30 days are left, you need 2.67 tasks per day. A current pace of 3 tasks per day creates a small buffer.
Subtract completed tasks from total tasks, then divide the remaining work by the days left.
Compare your current daily pace with the required daily pace. If current pace is lower, you need a catch-up plan.
A practical buffer is 10–20% of the total schedule, especially when revisions or external approvals are involved.
Recalculate remaining tasks and divide by the new number of days left. The difference from your normal pace is your catch-up load.
You need 5 tasks per day if none are completed yet. Completed tasks reduce the required daily pace.
