Formula
Gross loss = total input − good output. Net yield loss = max(0, gross loss − recovered units). First-pass yield = good output ÷ total input.
All time and output values must refer to the same measurement boundary.
What the result means
Net yield loss isolates input that did not become good output and was not recovered through rework or reprocessing.
The monetary estimate values only net lost units. It does not include disposal, labor, energy, rework, or downtime unless those costs are included in the entered unit value.
