Inspection takt = available inspection time ÷ units requiring inspection. Available time = shift length − breaks and non-inspection time.
All time and output values must refer to the same measurement boundary.
What the result means
Inspection takt is the average release interval the inspection team must sustain to clear the required volume during the available shift.
Compare measured inspection cycle time against takt. A cycle time above takt indicates a capacity gap unless staffing, stations, sampling, or available time changes.
