Capacity gap = available seats − required seats

A surplus means the office can accommodate modeled peak demand plus buffer. A shortage signals the number of seats or equivalent scheduling reduction needed.

Peak attendance is a scenario assumption. Validate it with access or booking data and test unusually busy days separately.

Example calculation

A 600-person workforce with 45% peak attendance and a 12% buffer requires 303 seats after rounding up. With 250 desks, the office has a shortage of 53 seats.
