Wellness Membership Product Duration Calculator

Estimate how long a wellness membership product supply can support the benefits promised to active members. Enter current inventory, product used for one included service, active members, included uses per member each month, expected participation, and product waste. The calculator converts membership obligations into monthly product demand, supported services, and estimated months of coverage. Use it for inventory planning while respecting manufacturer storage and expiration instructions.

How to use this calculator

Enter current inventory, product per included use, active members, monthly included uses, expected participation, and waste.

  1. Use the same unit for inventory and product per use.
  2. Set participation from observed redemptions or test 100% for maximum demand.
  3. Compare coverage with supplier lead time and expiry.

Formula

Usable inventory = Inventory × (1 − Waste %). Monthly uses = Members × Included uses × Participation %. Monthly demand = Monthly uses × Product per use. Coverage months = Usable inventory ÷ Monthly demand.

What the result means

Coverage shows how long current usable inventory can satisfy forecast membership benefit redemptions.

This estimate excludes non-member use and does not override manufacturer storage or expiration instructions.

Example calculation

With 2,000 mL in inventory and 5% waste, 1,900 mL remains usable. For 100 members with one monthly use at 80% participation, 80 services use 400 mL per month. Coverage is 4.75 months, or about 144 days.

Tips for better results

  • Base participation on actual member redemption when available.
  • Measure product used per included service across representative sessions.
  • Add a delivery-time buffer instead of ordering at zero inventory.
  • Track opened inventory separately when expiry dates differ.
  • Recalculate after membership growth or a benefit change.

Frequently asked questions

How does member participation affect product duration?

The calculator multiplies included uses by the expected participation rate, so lower redemption reduces forecast monthly product demand.

Should every included wellness membership use be assumed redeemed?

Use 100% participation for a conservative maximum-demand scenario, then compare it with observed participation.

Can grams be used instead of milliliters?

Yes. Use the same unit for inventory and product per included use.

Does the estimate account for expiration or storage limits?

No. Compare calculated coverage with manufacturer expiration, storage, and period-after-opening instructions.

How should shared product outside the membership be handled?

Subtract non-member demand from available inventory first or include that demand in a separate inventory forecast.
