How to use this calculator
- Enter the installed resource count.
- Set the expected operating rate.
- Add the daily reuse or sharing assumption.
- Review usable capacity and the limiting assumptions.
Plan how many learners your student device setup can realistically serve instead of relying on a headline seat or device count. This calculator converts installed resources into an expected daily capacity after operational limits are applied. It also separates nominal capacity from usable capacity so scheduling, support, and procurement decisions can be based on the actual service level.
The main result estimates daily learner service capacity. Compare it with enrollment demand and with other bottlenecks before adding resources.
This operational estimate assumes each deployable unit can complete its planned sharing cycle. Charging, network access, and class schedules should be checked separately.
For 500 devices at 92% availability, 25 held in reserve, and 1.5 learners per device, 435 devices are deployable and capacity is 653 learners per day after display rounding.
It estimates learner service opportunities per day. If the same learner uses more than one session or device cycle, count unique learners separately.
Installed capacity is rarely fully usable. The rate converts the nominal total into an expected operating total.
Yes. Decimal values are useful for schedules that vary across the week; the displayed learner count is rounded.
For the device version, deployable capacity cannot fall below zero. For classrooms, unused seats are reported from the utilization assumption.
Treat this as one capacity layer and compare it with instructor, support, network, and scheduling limits. The smallest constraint controls actual capacity.
| Variable | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Installed resources | Rooms, seats, or devices before operating limits |
| Operating rate | Expected occupied or working share |
| Reuse | Learners served through cycles or sharing |
