What this tool does

A blurred copy is subtracted from the original to find local edges. The selected amount adds that difference back only where it passes the threshold.

sharpened = original + amount × (original − blur)

Sharpening increases edge contrast; it does not recreate genuinely missing focus or detail.

Does unsharp mask image tool upload my photos?

No. Processing runs in the browser. A pinned library is loaded only when needed, but your selected image bytes are not sent to it or to Callimage.

What happens to image metadata after using this tool?

Canvas-generated image outputs generally omit EXIF and GPS metadata. Keep the original if that information matters.
