How to use this office tool

  1. Upload the source file and select a worksheet.
  2. Enter the first row in Header row and the last row in Preview rows.
  3. Extract the inclusive range and download the new XLSX file.

What this tool does

Copies a user-selected start and end row from one worksheet while optionally retaining the chosen header row.

Output rows = header row (optional) + source rows from the selected inclusive range.

Row numbers refer to the parsed worksheet grid, starting at 1.

Supported formats

Accepts XLSX, XLS, CSV, and TSV. The extracted rows are written to one XLSX worksheet.

Are the start and end row numbers inclusive?

Yes. Both row numbers are included in the extracted workbook.

Can I extract rows from a specific Excel sheet?

Yes. Choose the source worksheet after the workbook has been parsed.

Does row 1 mean the first visible spreadsheet row?

Yes. Row numbering starts at 1 in the parsed sheet grid.

Will formulas be preserved in extracted rows?

When formula preservation is enabled, formula cells are carried into the generated worksheet where supported.

Can I extract nonconsecutive rows?

This tool extracts one continuous range. Use a filter tool for separate matching rows.
