  2. Set how many adjacent columns to combine and choose a separator.
  3. Process, preview the joined values, and download the XLSX result.

What this tool does

Combines a selected run of adjacent columns row by row and inserts a new Combined column into a copied worksheet.

Starting column + column count + separator → one joined value per row

Blank parts are skipped. Inspect names, addresses, and codes where spacing or punctuation needs special handling.

  • Protect text values when joining codes with leading zeros.
  • Review rows containing blank source cells.

FAQ

How do I combine first and last name columns?

Set the starting column to the first-name column, choose two columns, and select Space as the separator.

Are blank cells included in the separator pattern?

No. Empty parts are skipped so the result does not accumulate unnecessary repeated separators.

Can I combine more than two columns?

Yes. Choose a count from two through six adjacent columns.

Does the tool delete the source columns?

The source columns remain and a new Combined column is inserted after the selected range.

Will numbers and dates be joined as displayed?

The tool uses the values available from the workbook parser; review date and locale-specific number presentation in the preview.
