What this tool does

Count indirect objects, streams, page markers, images, fonts, forms, annotations, and JavaScript markers in a PDF byte-level report.

The analyzer scans PDF syntax for indirect-object headers and common dictionary types, then exports the counts as a report.

Counts are diagnostic estimates; object streams and compressed cross-reference data can conceal nested objects from a byte scan.

Tips for better results

  • Use object counts to compare revisions of the same document.
  • A high object count is not necessarily a defect.
  • Run a dedicated security scanner when JavaScript markers are found.
