How to use this PDF tool

What this tool does

Render PDF pages as thumbnails and arrange them into a downloadable contact-sheet PDF with configurable two, three, or four-column layouts.

PDF.js renders each source page to a thumbnail; pdf-lib embeds the thumbnail images into newly generated A4 sheets.

The result is a raster preview sheet, so it is intended for navigation and review rather than text extraction.

Tips for better results

  • Use three columns for a useful balance of detail and density.
  • Choose two columns when pages contain small text.
  • Very long PDFs take more time because every page must be rendered.

Does pdf image contact sheet upload my files?

No. Processing runs in this browser. The page does not send the selected file to a Callpdf server.

Can this tool process a password-protected PDF?

PDFs that require a password are not supported in this version. Remove protection with the correct password before using the tool.

What happens with a very large PDF?

Large documents may use substantial memory and can take longer. Close other heavy tabs and try a smaller file or fewer pages if the browser stops.

Will the output preserve every advanced PDF feature?

Newly generated files preserve the visible content handled by this tool, but advanced forms, bookmarks, annotations, layers, or scripts may not carry over.
