Removing sensitive details without damaging the rest of the text
Redaction tools help identify and remove details that should not travel with a document, message, log, or sample dataset. Typical targets include email addresses, phone numbers, IDs, account references, names, addresses, and other personal or confidential information. These tools are useful when preparing examples, support cases, bug reports, research material, or content that will be shared outside the original context.
Automated redaction is never perfect. Some sensitive information does not follow a predictable pattern, and the surrounding sentence can still reveal identity even after a name or number is removed. Review the finished text manually, especially when it involves health, finance, employment, customer data, or internal systems.
