Formula
Used room-hours = visits × room minutes ÷ 60
Available room-hours = staffed rooms × operating hours
Utilization = used room-hours ÷ available room-hours × 100
What the result means
The result is the share of staffed room-time consumed by the entered daily workload. Average occupied rooms helps translate the percentage back into a physical-space measure.
A daily average can hide severe hourly congestion. This tool does not prescribe a safe utilization target and does not model room type, isolation, cleaning variation, boarding, or staffing constraints.
