Gig Delivery Billable Capacity Calculator

Estimate how much paid work can fit into a realistic week after breaks and unpaid waiting time. This tool converts your schedule and expected utilization into billable hours, practical deliveries capacity, and unused online time so you can compare demand with the hours you actually have available.

Calculator

Weekly schedule and utilization
hr/wk
Total time reserved for app work.
hr/wk
Meals, personal stops, or time deliberately offline.
%
Share of available online time spent on paid orders or trips.
min
Typical paid time from acceptance to completion.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter the total hours reserved for app work each week.
  2. Subtract planned breaks or other unavailable periods.
  3. Use recent activity to estimate the share of online time that is paid.
  4. Enter the average duration of one paid job, then calculate.

Formula

Online hours = scheduled hours − breaks
Paid hours = online hours × paid-time share
Deliveries capacity = paid hours × 60 ÷ average job minutes

What the result means

Paid hours are the portion of your weekly availability expected to generate revenue. The deliveries estimate translates that time into workload, while unpaid online time highlights the capacity lost to waiting.

Demand and platform dispatching are not controlled by the worker. Use a multi-week average rather than one unusually busy session.

Example calculation

With 40 scheduled hours, 4 hours of breaks, a 70% paid-time share, and 24 minutes per job, available online time is 36 hours. Paid time is 25.2 hours and estimated capacity is 63 deliveries.

Tips for better results

  • Track online and active time separately.
  • Use median job duration when a few long jobs distort the average.
  • Recalculate for peak and off-peak shifts.
  • Leave room for vehicle, phone, and meal breaks.
  • Compare planned capacity with completed work each week.

Frequently asked questions

Does waiting between deliveries count as billable time?

Only if you include it in the paid-time share. The calculator treats the remaining online time as unpaid waiting.

How should I estimate the paid-time share?

Use several recent work sessions: divide time actively completing paid work by total online time, then multiply by 100.

Can scheduled hours include two different apps?

Yes, as long as the utilization estimate reflects the combined paid time without double-counting overlapping hours.

Why is estimated deliveries capacity not a guarantee?

Average job duration and demand change by location, day, weather, and platform, so the result is a planning estimate.

What happens if breaks exceed scheduled time?

The calculator rejects that input because available online time cannot be negative.
