Formula

Required labor hours = [pets × (service minutes + cleanup minutes) + daily overhead minutes] ÷ 60

What the result means

Required labor hours measure total work, not elapsed clock time. Parallel work can shorten the day when staffing and workstation constraints allow it.

Complex coats, behavior, late arrivals, drying equipment, and facility layout can change actual labor demand.

Example calculation

Eight pets at 75 service minutes plus 10 cleanup minutes require 680 minutes. Adding 60 overhead minutes produces 12.33 labor hours.
