Formula

Productive minutes/day = groomers × hours × 60 × utilization %
Pets/day = floor(productive minutes ÷ labor minutes per pet)

What the result means

The weekly result is labor-based capacity for complete appointments. It is not a booking forecast and does not automatically account for equipment bottlenecks.

Utilization should exclude meetings, cleaning, breaks, training, and idle time. Use observed data instead of treating 100% as a sustainable default.

Example calculation

Two groomers working 8 hours at 75% utilization provide 720 productive minutes. At 90 minutes per pet, capacity is 8 pets daily or 40 pets weekly.

Does the tool include no-shows?

No. It estimates production capacity; booked capacity may need an overbooking or cancellation model.

Why might actual capacity be lower?

Tubs, dryers, tables, skill mix, arrival timing, safety, and demand can each constrain throughput.
