Formula
Annual electricity = watts ÷ 1,000 × powered hours/day × 365 × electricity rate. Annual total = monthly care × 12 + electricity + annual reserve + equipment cost ÷ planning life.
What the result means
The result is an annualized budget for the entered plan. Equipment is allocated evenly across its planning life, even though the cash purchase may occur all at once.
Actual electricity use changes as heaters and chillers cycle. Measure equipment with an energy meter when a more accurate budget is needed, and keep emergency funds separate from predictable annual costs.
