Stored mass = bin liters × bulk density × fill%. Usable mass = stored mass × (1 − reserve%). Days = usable mass ÷ daily use.

What the result means

The result estimates storage coverage based on feed mass, not just container liters, because feeds have different bulk densities.

Do not exceed the manufacturer’s load limit. Moisture control, pests, and feed freshness can set a lower practical storage quantity.

Example calculation

A 250 L bin at 0.55 kg/L, filled to 90% with a 10% reserve and 3 kg/day use provides about 37.13 days of feed.
