Split a tournament or event prize pool across ranked placements with a configurable top-prize share and payout decay. The calculator normalizes the weights so every dollar is assigned, then reports the winner’s payout, the last paid place, and the concentration of the top three awards. It is useful for testing payout structures before publishing event rules.
The main result is the normalized first-place payout. Because all weights are normalized, the pool is fully allocated even when raw weights do not total 100%.
Published payouts may need a rounding adjustment so displayed currency amounts add exactly to the prize pool.
For a $10,000 pool, eight paid places, a 35% starting weight, and 75% decay, normalized first place receives approximately $2,779.83.
