Target emissions = baseline × (1 − reduction ÷ 100)
Required target intensity change = 1 − target emissions ÷ (baseline × (1 + growth)years)
What the result means
The main result is the absolute emissions reduction required by the target year. The intensity result shows how much emissions per unit of freight activity must improve if activity changes as assumed.
The annual reduction shown is a straight-line planning milestone. Real decarbonization paths can be uneven and should be tracked against an unchanged boundary.
