How to use this office tool

What this tool does

Copies the selected sheet's cells into a new workbook and creates a fresh XLSX Blob for download.

Cell values and formulas are retained where supported; charts, macros, external links, and advanced formatting may not carry over.

Tips for better results

  • Use concise sheet names to avoid compatibility issues.
  • Check formulas that point to sheets not included in the new workbook.

FAQ

Can I select more than one worksheet at a time?

This browser-safe version exports the single sheet selected in the menu into a new workbook.

Will formulas referencing other sheets still work?

Those formulas may retain references to sheets that are absent, so review cross-sheet formulas after export.

Are charts and pivot tables copied?

No. The export focuses on worksheet cell data and does not guarantee advanced object preservation.

Can I extract a sheet from an XLS file?

SheetJS can read many XLS files, but complex legacy workbook features may not be preserved in the new XLSX.

Does the source workbook get edited?

No. The tool only reads it and generates a separate workbook.
