Estimate practical cold chain throughput after accounting for available resources, processing speed, operating time, and expected availability. The result identifies the lowest-capacity resource and compares practical capacity with forecast demand so managers can plan labor, equipment, dock, or storage changes.
Theoretical capacity = pallet positions × turns per day × operating days. Practical capacity = theoretical capacity × availability percentage. Capacity gap = practical capacity − forecast demand.
A positive gap indicates modeled spare capacity; a negative gap indicates that forecast demand exceeds the current assumptions. The estimate is only as reliable as the sustainable processing rate and availability inputs.
