Formula

Moving time = distance ÷ average speed. Base time = moving time + cold handling time + (checkpoints × time per checkpoint). Total time = base time × (1 + buffer ÷ 100).

The total is a planning duration, not a guaranteed arrival time. Compare the moving-time and dwell-time components before adding more buffer; reducing dwell can be more effective than assuming a faster route.

Use consistent route miles and operating hours. Weather, border clearance, equipment availability, excursions, and carrier schedules can still change the actual trip.
