Formula

Throughput = Good units ÷ Actual run hours

Daily projection = throughput × 24. Minutes per good unit = run hours × 60 ÷ good units.

What the result means

This rate describes accepted output during actual run time. It is not a promise of future output because staffing, material supply, maintenance, and product mix can change.

Use the same definition of “good unit” and the same run-time boundary whenever you compare shifts or equipment.

Example calculation

With 120 good units produced in 8 run hours, throughput is 120 ÷ 8 = 15 units per hour. The unchanged-rate 24-hour projection is 360 good units.
