Formula

Slab yd³ = area × (thickness ÷ 12) ÷ 27
Required rate = volume ÷ hours
Effective capacity = rated capacity × utilization × units

What the result means

A nonnegative margin indicates modeled effective capacity can meet the average required placement rate.

Check peak demand, truck spacing, pump setup, access, and standby arrangements in addition to average capacity.

Example calculation

A 10,000 ft² slab at 6 in thick needs 185.19 yd³. Over 8 hours, required flow is 23.15 yd³/hr. One 25 yd³/hr unit at 70% utilization supplies 17.5 yd³/hr, a 5.65 yd³/hr shortfall.
