Remaining = Baseline × (1 − efficiency %) × (1 − controls %) × (1 − cleaner power %)

What the result means

The main result is the total reduction required from the baseline. The remaining reduction compares current emissions with the target-year level.

The constant annual decline is a smooth reference pathway. Actual projects may deliver uneven reductions from year to year.

Example calculation

Starting at 500 tCO2e, sequential improvements of 18%, 12%, and 35% leave 234.52 tCO2e—a combined reduction of 265.48 tCO2e or 53.10%.

What happens if I enter zero?

Zero is accepted where it is meaningful. The calculator blocks negative values and any input that would make the selected scenario invalid.
