XLSX and XLS files are read with SheetJS in the browser. CSV and TSV are supported where the operation has a meaningful tabular result. Advanced Excel objects may not be preserved.

Enter the one-based number of the category column. Each distinct value becomes a separate output worksheet.
Rows with blank split values are placed in a worksheet named Blank.
Yes. Invalid characters are removed and names are shortened to Excel's 31-character worksheet limit.
Yes. The first row is treated as the header and is included in every generated worksheet.
Yes. The tool limits the number of output groups to keep the browser responsive and reports an error when the limit is exceeded.
