How to use Merge PDF

  1. Select two or more PDF files.
  2. Choose how the files should be ordered.
  3. Click Merge PDFs, review the page count, and download the new PDF.

What this tool does

The tool copies every page from the selected PDFs into a new file. It preserves the page artwork while creating a fresh document container.

Output pages = all pages from PDF 1 + PDF 2 + PDF 3, in the selected order.

Bookmarks, form behavior, embedded files, and advanced annotations may not survive copying.

Supported files and limits

Standard PDF files supported by pdf-lib 1.17.1 are processed locally. Empty, damaged, or encrypted PDFs may be rejected. Available browser memory limits practical file size.

Tips for better results

  • Rename files with numeric prefixes when order matters.
  • Merge smaller batches if the browser runs low on memory.
  • Check interactive forms after merging.

FAQ

How can I merge PDFs in a specific order?

Select the files in that order or use file-name sorting with numbered file names.

Will merging PDFs reduce their image quality?

Pages are copied without rasterizing, so images are not intentionally recompressed.

Can I merge password-protected PDF files?

Encrypted files may fail to load unless the browser library can open them without a password.

Are bookmarks preserved when PDFs are merged?

Page content is preserved, but document-level bookmarks and some advanced objects may be lost.

How many PDF files can I merge at once?

There is no fixed count in the page, but browser memory limits practical batch size.
