Formula

Base cycle minutes = preparation + (distance ÷ speed × 60) + (stops × service minutes) + breaks
Total cycle minutes = base × (1 + delay % ÷ 100)

What the result means

The main result is a dispatch-to-return route cycle. The stop-per-hour figure uses all elapsed route time, not just time at customer locations.

For multi-day routes, account separately for hours-of-service rules and overnight rest. This calculator does not determine legal driving eligibility.

Example calculation

Preparation is 35 minutes. Driving 120 miles at 35 mph takes 205.71 minutes; 12 stops at 14 minutes take 168 minutes, and breaks add 30 minutes. A 10% allowance produces 482.69 minutes, or 8.04 hours.
