Formula
Total labor-hours = (fence length ÷ base rate × difficulty multiplier) + (gates × labor per gate)
Elapsed workdays = total labor-hours ÷ (crew size × workday hours). The difficulty multiplier affects the fence run but not the separately entered gate allowance.
What the result means
Total labor-hours measures the combined effort of every worker, while crew workdays estimates calendar time if the whole crew works at once. Contractor schedules may be longer because of inspections, concrete curing, weather, or material delivery.
This is a planning estimate, not a labor warranty. Confirm production rates for the fence type, soil, post-setting method, and equipment actually used.
