The source is parsed locally, the requested page or optimization operation is applied, and a new PDF or ZIP Blob is created for download.

Complex forms, annotations, embedded files, signatures, and encrypted PDFs may not be preserved by browser-based rewriting.

Supported formats

Input must be a standard PDF that can be opened without a password. The output is PDF, except split operations which return a ZIP containing PDF files.

FAQ

Which PDF metadata fields are removed?

The tool clears title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, creation date, modification date, and XMP metadata when present.

Does removing metadata change the visible PDF pages?

It does not intentionally alter page content or order, though the document is rewritten to create the cleaned file.

Can hidden content still remain after metadata removal?

Yes. Embedded files, comments, layers, form values, and redactions are separate from document metadata and are not removed here.

Will the cleaned PDF be smaller?

It may be slightly smaller, but size reduction is not the purpose of this tool.

Can this clean an encrypted PDF?

Not if a password is required. Open and decrypt the file with authorized software before using this browser tool.
